Plastic Fabrication Techniques
CNC Machining
Plas‐Tech has the latest CNC technology to produce quality, precise components or finished products. Our machines have tight tolerances that can meet the demands of aerospace, food processing, assembly line manufacturing, transportation and more. Complex designs may need 5‐Axis CNC machining, which can produce 3‐dimensional components at cost savings, or perform complex contour work. Other projects call for mill and lathe machining or 3‐Axis laser cutting. Whichever you need, we can provide it.
- 3‐Axis CNC Machining: Component sizes range from 0.125 inches to 120 inches, with tolerances of +/- .005 inches. Acceptable file formats include DXF, DWG, STEP, IGS, and SLPRT.
- 5‐Axis CNC Machining: Tolerances in the range of +/- 0.005 inches, 5 x 10 feet capacity and 48 inches of travel on the Z‐Axis.
- Mill and Lathe Machining: Maximum part size is 40 x 20 x 20 inches.
- 3‐Axis Laser Cutting: Component sizes range from 0.125 inches to 120 inches with tolerances of +/- 0.005 inches. Acceptable file formats include DXF, DWG, STEP, IGS, and SLPRT.
Drape Forming
Plas‐Tech has been drape forming for 15 years. This process can bring many advantages to your design, including shaping large curves without compromising thickness or stretching the material. Line Bending
Achieve any bend your design needs with Plas‐Tech’s many line bending machines. We offer both water‐cooled and radiant heat elements to bend your plastic to your specifications, quickly and uniformly.
Precision Die Cutting
Medical devices, electronics, and many other industries need excellent tolerances on fine components. With our precision die cutting services, Plas‐Tech offers just that.
Thermoforming & Vacuum Forming
These two processes can be used to create complex mouldings or to emboss thin plastic sheets. Thermoforming is a more cost‐effective process of pressing warmed plastic into a mould. Finishing Techniques
Hard Coating
Plas‐Tech can improve the life‐span of your part or finished product by applying a hard coating. Acrylic and Polycarbonate can be protected from abrasion and ultraviolet (UV) radiation, making a scratch‐resistant, light‐resistant and even chemical‐resistant final product.
Hot Stamping
You can finish your plastic material without compromising your company’s environmentally‐friendly commitment. Hot stamping applies graphics to virtually any plastic without using inks, solvents, or generating dangerous vapours. This simple process is also called foil stamping. Vinyl Application & Cold Laminating
Vinyl can help your plastic keeps its good looks for longer. Adhesives can allow you to mount your material or can stick two components together. Plas‐Tech offers several types of vinyls and adhesives including:
