Plas-tech is proud to showcase a recent project we worked on using our DAYCORA line of products. The Michener Institute, located downtown Toronto, is the only academic institution in Canada devoted exclusively to applied health sciences education. Looking to renovate their front lobby with a meaningful update, they contracted GOW Hastings Architects to re-design their space. Having worked on a previous project with GOW Hastings Architects using 16mm Polycarbonate Multiwall as a decorative wall / baffle, GOW Hastings designed and specified Plas-Tech to supply and install a beautiful backlit showpiece spanning horizontally across the entire lobby. Using our Hollow Core Daycora panels and a custom made “seamless” framing system; a pattern which pulled it’s inspiration from DNA code was imprinted across both the front and back of the panels creating a 3D effect across the panels. Polycarbonate multiwall is light transmitting and translucent in nature providing the perfect backdrop for this application. In the center of the feature wall, Plas-Tech also reproduced the Michener Institute Logo and applied the 3D lasercut letters directly to the surface of translucent white polycarbonate panels
